The Book: North American Tour Guide 2024

The first section of the guide is released NOW and includes information for the tour opener at The Anthem in Washington DC through the Gorge (Washington state) stop on September 14th. As we get closer to the second leg of the tour on November 1st, we’ll have more to share, so check back!

This project started as it always does with me: on a Reddit thread at three in the morning answering obscure questions about King Gizzard. I was reading a thread right around tour announcement and ticket sale time, asking questions about the venues, how to arrange travel, and more. And then it hit me. Han-Tyumi is basically the Michelin Man: why not make a Gizz-centered guide for wayward travelers? I ran this idea by a few other site volunteers and soon we were sketching out our plan.

Originally we wanted this publication to be the comprehensive guide to everything, at every stop in every city on the North American tour. Best places to stay, attractions (and transportation) on the way between stops, venue maps, EVERYTHING. When we realized exactly how insane that was (and how much time we really had), we did our best to distill down the need to-know information on having fun, eating well, and enjoying the venue.

One of the things I love about this community is that King Gizzard fans ask more out of their merchandise, restaurants, and tourism. We’ve done our best to include picks in the guide from local fans to encourage environmentally and ethically sustainable tourism. Visit and buy locally-owned and independent where you can and support the communities you visit. After hearing only positive things from Remlinger and other venue staff, let’s continue to leave good impressions everywhere we go and proudly wear that Gizzard merch!

While we had to curb our ambitions a bit this year, we’ll be back bigger and better, moving our guide worldwide. We had plans for a collector’s edition printed guide and still do. Stay tuned for updates on all our socials and leave us a comment on future ideas for the guide or other site features. If you’re interested in contributing to anything on our site, contact us at kglw.net/contact. We love artists, writers, graphic designers, programmers, social media and setlist gurus, and anyone else who loves the band and wants to help our mission!

In an exciting development, we’ve also teamed up with Cash or Trade for this guide and into the altered future. Our volunteer team has many personal users of CashorTrade.org and we’re excited to promote them as the number one site on the web for selling tickets at face value. No extra Ticketmaster fees (for reselling tickets YOU ALREADY OWN), no outrageous scalped prices, and no elaborate online ticket scammers (transactions backed by Cash or Trade’s escrow service). What’s not to love? Check them out if you’re looking for King Gizzard or any other tickets this season. They also have a raffle going on for Red Rocks tickets.

But most importantly, enjoy the guide and go have some fun on tour! We’ll see you out there: look for kglw.net t-shirts at shows and we MIGHT just have some free stickers for you.
