Released on their 1969 eponymous album, “I Wanna Be Your Dog” is a punk rock song by The Stooges. Fuzzy guitars, sleigh bells and charismatic vocals make up the track, with Iggy Pop slinging desperate, provocative lyrics. He described it as a song about God, though he also commented on the song’s erotic elements: “Have you ever seen, like, a really good looking girl, really nicely dressed, and she’s walking down the street with her dog, right? And like her dog is… intimate with her body, and she likes him and everything. Basically, it’s the idea of I want to unite with your body. I don’t wanna talk about literature with you or judge you as a person. I wanna dog you.”

The first confirmed performance was on 2012-11-25 at AC/DC Lane in Naarm (Melbourne). In the following years it remained a rare track. Only one 2013 performance is known to exist (2013-02-23. It would be played a few times in 2014, with a final appearance on 2014-09-18 at the Ding Dong Lounge in Naarm (Melbourne). The song was played alongside “Crookedile” in 2012/2013 while the 2014 performances were standalone covers.
