The second part of the Mind Fuzz suite, “I’m Not In Your Mind,” is a psychedelic instrumental with a fast pace and mind-bending riffs which ties together “I’m In Your Mind” and “Cellophane.” The piece is made of multiple guitar driven sections that build on top of one another, with one even improvising off of the “Arabian riff,” famously heard in “The Streets of Cairo/The Poor Little Country Maid.”
While it hasn’t always been played at the band’s shows, “I’m Not In Your Mind” is the album’s strangeness and Krautrock influence condensed into a short segue.

The earliest known performance of the song was on 2014-02-09 at St. Kilda Foreshore in Naarm (Melbourne). The setlist indicates that there was a song named “Math” which may be the working title of the song, the following song “Cellophane”, or a version where “Cellophane” was included as part of the track. Just like the album, it was part of a four-song suite of “I’m In Your Mind” > “I’m Not In Your Mind” > “Cellophane” > “I’m In Your Mind Fuzz.”
Based on existing recordings from early-mid 2014, early performances were no different than the studio version.
The song was recorded by Paul Maybury at A Secret Location in Melbourne and co-mixed by Stu. It would released on I’m In Your Mind Fuzz on October 31st, 2014.
The bassline of the suite would later reappear at the end of “The Lord of Lightning.”

“I’m Not In Your Mind” was consistently played at shows from 2014 to 2016 as part of the suite, with footage making its way into the documentary BOOTLEG HOLIDAY FROM HELL.
The song would also be a prominent part of the band’s concert film for Live In San Francisco ‘16. “I’m Not In Your Mind” was a given for the band’s setlists before disappearing in 2017 as “Cellophane” was moved to be a part of other suites. To our knowledge it was played only once that year on 2017-01-21 at The Meadow in Singapore. In August of 2018 the song was paired with “I’m In Your Mind” to go into “The Balrog.” One of these performances from 2018-08-18 would end up in THE NONAGON MOVIE. This pairing lasted into 2019, the same year the Mind Fuzz suite was reintroduced. It would sometimes not include “I’m In Your Mind Fuzz”, but at this point “I’m Not In Your Mind” had found its home again. In 2020 it would make three appearances (as well as appearing in the documentary RATTY), then only two times in 2021.
Since then the song has made appearances as part of the Mind Fuzz suite, though by 2022 it was becoming a longer jam with more improvisation and teases involved compared to older versions.
