“On The Road Again” is a song by the band Canned Heat. Inspired by “Big Road Blues” by Tommy Johnson, as well as “Dark Road” and “On The Road Again” by Floyd Jones, it was released on the 1968 album Boogie With Canned Heat and became one of the band’s biggest hits. It’s a blues rock boogie vamping a simple one chord progression with psychedelic elements such as a tambura.

The only known performance of the song was on 2015-06-24 at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn. This performance (briefly included in the documentary BOOTLEG HOLIDAY FROM HELL) was played with Ambrose on harmonica and Stu on guitar and vocals. In 2017, the band would walk on stage to The Rockets’ electro-boogie version of the song from 1978.
