Song history written by TimelandIsWacky

“Stevie Ray Horn” is a Can-inspired jam written by Stu with a title that is a play on the name of famous bluesman Stevie Ray Vaughan.

The song was first heard during an unannounced live stream on September 2nd, 2020 where the band played a number of demos and unreleased songs. King Gizzard called the track “STU/LUKEY/AMBY/ZAK JAM 2018” and “STEVIE RAY HORNY” in chat. While the latter is a play on its title, the former indicates who was involved. It’s unclear who Zak is, though it could be Zak Olsen from the band ORB.
While not confirmed, “Stevie Ray Horn” may be tied to two similar-sounding jams from 2018-08-20 (featured in THE NONAGON MOVIE) and 2018-08-22. “Stevie Ray Horn” was officially released as part of Demos Vol. 1: Music To Kill Bad People To on October 1st, 2020.

Apart from the loose connections described above, the released demo version of “Stevie Ray Horn” has not been played live.
