This was my first KGLW show. I had been listening for a few years and had a ticket to the final Ref Rocks show in November 2022, but sold it to a friend whom was leaving town for the show. I had just started a new job a few weeks earlier which took away any energy and thought of actually attending a marathon show. I swallowed my pride and then something interesting happened, that winter my wife said she started listening to them while snowboarding and like that, new favorite band status. Fast forward a few months and here we are at the arrival of PetroD and my first show. I didn't know what to expect as I only had a few records and only heard a bit of them live. I had no idea the treat that lie in store. What a roller coaster of a ride this show was. Started off very metal and I thought my wife wouldn't like it, but she was digging it. They took us on a ride with a pyramid behind them and they must have played all of the notes that night. Astroturf is my favorite song, so that was a major treat along with Hate Dancing. What can I say other than that was one of the greatest sets of music I have ever heard in 4 decades of consuming music, particularly live music. Here I am a year later having just witnessed the greatness again on the rocks. This time, Jay from Slipknot came out for LeRisque and more. Holy B'Jesus these guys are amazing. To top IT all off, Trey was feeling out at this show and was presented with a Phish inspired Gizz shirt taboot. What a night for live music!
